So, this seems to be a semester of group projects. Our finals for my English 30 (English for the Professions) class is a class project, wherein we had to come up with a socially-relevant activity that would allow us to exercise our letter-writing skills and what-not (which, c'mon, is practically any activity you can think of). Anyway, my class decided to renovate a public elementary school library, and donate books as well.
This morning, I was going through all my books, looking for elementary-level reading material that I could donate. Unfortunately, aside from all our old textbooks, I found that I wouldn't be giving away much. Aside from my huge-ass collection of Animorphs and Baby Sitters Club books, everything else seemed to jump from basic learning-to-read books to lengthy novels.
Then I realized, well, I did finish my first full-length novel in fourth grade (Tom Clancy's Lost World), so yeah, I probably did skip the whole adolescent literature phase. Ooops. I used to devour books when I was younger. I remember, I'd borrow two books during recess, and the very next day, I'd return them and borrow two more books. I think I had ten library cards in one of my years in elementary. At some point, I ran out of books to borrow. Haha!
I miss reading :( I never seem to have time for it nowadays. I have all these books that are just waiting for me to pick them up, but I just don't have the time. Le sigh :(
Ah well. One week to go, and this semester will finally be over. Whoooo! And then its nine units to go, and then... FREEDOM! :D |

Whew! Classes suspended on all levels today, due to the transport strike. What a beautiful way to begin the day :P Hehehe... seriously though, this was a very very welcome break. As IN.
Tuesdays and Fridays are my most hectic days, because I have class from 8:30am til 5:30pm. In addition to that, my class from 1-4pm is a lab class, so we're usually rushing requirements and MPs so that we can test them during class hours.
Today was supposed to be a particularly nasty Tuesday. Our CoE 113 3rd long exam was scheduled for this afternoon, at 4pm. Right after was to be the Engineering Organization Excellence Award finals night, where Josine, Chenney, and I were going to present for UP ERG. I spent last night bouncing back and forth between studying and preparing our presentation. Or at least, I tried to, but after a while my body just sort of gave up on me :P
I guess that's what happens when you insist on going without sleep :P Friday night, we stayed overnight in ISSI to watch over the stuff for the Jag and Lee sale, and I ended up sleeping at 4am. Saturday night was more or less normal, but Sunday night, I stayed up til 5am finishing my CoE 151 chat client. Talk about nocturnal >.<
One week to go!!! This semester's been insane. December had Eng'g Week (ERG FIGHT!!!), then January was filled with exams and MPs. I took a week off from February for the Ayala Young Leaders' Congress, and when I came back, it was like plunging headfirst into one big pool of work. Before I knew it, it was March, and with that came all the last minute requirements that you usually get at the end of the sem. Boo!
Ah well. Final thesis proposal presentation tomorrow. After that, we have four more exams, a problem set, and three machine problems, and then its hello summer! :P Okay fine, so it'll also be hello thesis. But at least I can finally stop being a hermit! I miss being able to go out randomly, and I definitely miss capoeira >.<
So yeah. Konti nalang! |

| My Dream Home |
|
|
| 12:14am 26/09/2007 |

Your home is a Athletic Coder's Retreat Your kitchen is actually a GNC franchise, though all you really need are your Power Bars and Red Bulls. There's a pantry stocked with beef jerky. Oh, and deer jerky. Your master bedroom has an on-call masseuse and sports therapist. Your study has every language reference book ever written, including now-useless titles like Learn Javascript 2.0! and C++ Programming for Windows 95. (Why are you keeping those?) One of your garages houses your Hummer, and others contain your H2, and H3... with room for an H4, if they ever invent one.
Your home also includes a wine cellar, which you've partially stocked with Martinelli's Sparkling Cider for when your Mormon friends come over. Your guests enjoy your home theater with 37 different sports channels. Outside is your radio telescope, listening constantly for alien transmissions. Especially invaders. They'll come eventually, even if nobody believes you. (Nobody does.)
Below is a snippet of the blueprints: |

Wow. Haven't blogged in a long time. Haha... I'd normally be in my EEE 107 lab class right now, but since we don't have class today, I have a bit of time. Not that I'll actually be able to rest, since I have a ton of stuff to do, but I suppose taking a short break won't hurt much. (Hmm. Okay, 'break' is the wrong word, seeing as how I haven't started :( )
As of now, I still need to...
... do my EEE 107 problem set. (Due on Friday!) Communications is icky. :( I realized long ago that I don't like analog, and I don't like signals. Thank god I'm not an ECE! Studying autocorrelation functions and ergodic processes and wide sense stationary signals is beyond me. (Okay, FINE, I know there's a whole lot more to it than that, but right now, that's what we're taking up, and I'm so very very lost. :P )
... do my EEE 105 machine exercise. (Due on Friday!) Well, this is a lot more appealing than the problem set :D Haha. Programming is fun. :D Even if it's in assembly language. :D
... study for PI 100. (Exam tomorrow!) Sigh, it's a good thing they repeatedly drilled all those facts about the Spanish occupation into our heads back in grade school and high school. It's an essay exam, so hopefully whatever I don't really know, I can bullshit my way through :D Wahaha!
... study for EEE 107. (Exam on Saturday!) Communications AGAIN. :( Hopefully after doing my problem set, I'll understand what I'm supposed to understand for our exam this Saturday.
Hmm. Anything beyond this week, I refuse to think about just yet. Hah! But yeah, I do have two exams and a quiz next week, so... ouch. >.<
I really need to work out my priorities. I want to train even more, given that batizado's coming up, but I think that'd be borderline masochistic already. >.< As usual, my sleeping pattern's shot to hell. Hahaha! if only we didn't need to sleep! :D
I think I've procrastinated enough. Must start working! |

| 6 Weird Things |
|
|
| 11:33pm 14/06/2007 |
| |
The Rule: Each player of this game starts with 6 weird things about you. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state the rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave a comment that says you are tagged in their comments and tell them to read your blog.
1. I drink KFC gravy. Take note: DRINK. The way you'd drink, say, water, or juice. Haha! KFC gravy is yummy. 'Nuff said. :)
2. Whenever I take exams, I need to use tech pens with different tip widths. For instance, I use 0.8mm pens to draw circuits and box my final answers, and 0.3mm pens to write out my solutions. For essay exams, I usually use 0.3mm or 0.5mm pens.
3. I can crack virtually all my joints: neck, spine, shoulders, wrists, ankles, toes, you name it. :P
4. My body consumes very little oxygen. Seriously. I discovered this when I started scuba diving, noticing that at the end of the dive, the air left in my tank was usually double the amount of air that the other divers had (and no, size has nothing to do with it. :P this applies even to the divers who were just about as tall as me)
5. I can sleep virtually anywhere. Even on the floor. This makes it extremely difficult for me to study properly when I'm tired. Whoo, sleep is good, no? :)
6. I don't watch TV. I'm probably in front of the television for a grand total of, what, 3 hours every week? I only watch TV on Sundays, when I'm in my grandparents' house. Hurrah for CSI Supreme Sunday and The Simpsons!
I tag... Tatsie, Rica, Pinky, Brij, Tuil, and V. :) |

| Free Time... Finally! |
|
|
| 11:41am 29/05/2007 |

Wow. Ironically, it's only now that the summer's practically over that I find time to be a bum and do whatever I want. (Which is technically not true, since I still have to market for CAPES, and meet with the ERG Execom to fix up plans for next sem, and finish the EEE Days documentation, and buy pasalubong for my kid cousins in the states, and some other minor stuff, but hey :D All in good time...) I've been able to catch up on sleep, more or less, getting up at 9am (which, fine, is still early for some of you folks, but not for me!), and yesterday I went shopping with Tats and Kloh.
Ahahahaha... Shoppinggggggggggg. I learned that my friends are shameless. I completely blame the fact that I overspent on them. Ahahaha! How can you practice self-control, when everything is cute, is pretty, makes you look hot, is a must-buy, and blah blah blah? Hmph. In fairness, I didn't get a single basic tee or T-shirt, so props to me. :P Of course, now I must find an excuse to wear all of them pretty dresses. :D
Sigh. Reg is next week na. Booo! I haven't even recovered from the horror that was Physics 104, and now a new semester is starting. Mehn. :( It's like the summer just zoomed past. Rainy season is starting, and I still want to go to the beach!
ERG TS this weekend, and then ESC0607 term ender next weekend (and possibly the IML sem starter too :P). Can't wait! Please make the weather behave. Haha! |

Whoooo. This has got to be one of the hottest summers we've ever had... EVER. >.< Ah well. Soon enough the rains will be coming in, so I guess we've just got to make the most of the dry weather.
We didn't go to Philam last Sunday because Dad and Mom were out entertaining Mom's guests. So, after hearing mass, my brothers and I decided to have lunch out. Then, in the process of figuring out where we wanted to go, we decided to watch a movie as well.
Ended up seeing Wild Hogs. Haha, hilarious movie! It was a lot better than I expected -- it was really, genuinely funny. :P Not shallow-funny, although fine, there were shallow moments. :) But yeah... it was a good movie, and I'm glad we decided to go and watch.
Bonding with my brothers was fun. :D Now that we're all in college, we rarely get to spend time together anymore. It was a good way to spend our free Sunday afternoon, much better than doing my Physics homework, which was my original plan (eugh, Physics. Hahaha!)
Hmrm. There. For some reason, this summer seems to be a whole lot slower than the previous years'. Ah well. I suppose I'll be busy soon enough. Might as well enjoy it while I can. |

How can you stop what's coming... when you don't know anything about power? Congratulation, you're Sylar, the artist formerly known as Gabriel Gray! You are a seriously nerdy person with an enormous desire to be different, and to be recognized for it. As long as you don't go eating brains, this doesn't have to be a bad thing at all. You're ambitious, intelligent, tenacious, and unique.
Your best quality: Panache Your worst quality: An obsessive desire for recognition and power |
